What version of IC do you have? You mentioned just installing the new update, which I presume is the Aug 29, 2008 service pack for IC81A.
I can't duplicate this behaviour, either before or after installation of this service pack, and there have not been any previous reports of this occurence in any version.
When you installed the service pack, did you do this directly at the server or from a workstation? If you installed directly at the server, then this is a mistake and could have caused the problem.
The ICRECON.rpt file should have a date of Mar 1, 2006 and it was not updated with the service pack.
Could workstation or network rights be an issue? It may be necessary to reboot and try again.
