Okay so maybe the doubling was my fault for posting the provisional batches without posting a batch in between to clear the previous provisional posting. But there was the problem before that in that I couldn't run the provisional worksheet trial balance. The radial button was not there to choose when I did have 2 batches provisionally posted. Should I print and clear the provisonal posting journal after posting provisionally - was that the problem?

Although actually if you provisonally post and find a problem, change a batch and want to provisionally post again, you would want it to clear the provisional postings before provisionally posting that batch again - so it should actually clear the previous batches before provisionally posting - shouldn't it.

As to the next year, current year issue I did have it prompt when posting a batch in next year even though the only provisionally posted batches were in the current year. It doesn't seem to have cleared them though despite the prompt that it would.
