If a Ledger data set has been converted to Ledger 90A, you can no longer open this data using an older version of Adagio Ledger, say 81A. You've got 2 companies where the data conversion has been done on one but not on the other.

You need to determine if data has been converted or not. One easy way is to look at the data with Windows Explorer and search for a file GLFISC'R (which is the new Fiscal Calendar file in Ledger 90A). If you find it and other fields that start with GLFISC, the data has been converted. If you don't find it, the data has not been converted.

Your current live GL data can (and should) be converted to Ledger 90A. Old copies of earlier year data backups should not be converted and left at the 81A level, so that they can be 'retrieved' in to the current data using the Retrieve Prior Year Data function.
