Dear laurasesko

Ok - the issue could be that you are trying to accept the settings that the install program defaults to after searching your drive for Excel, and possibly this is not the correct information in the "device, path or file" that QL needs to complete the install. It should not be this complicated.

Are you just accepting the defaults - or are you using the Browse buttons to change this information (say, if you have a partitioned hard drive or substituted drive on your laptop and/or the desktop computer)?

Another thing to note (although I would think an error message would come up) is that you must have MS Excel actually installed on your system before QL will install. Possibly it is not generating the appropriate error if you do not have Excel installed. (Actually, it should be installed on the same drive to avoid potential problems.)

Another thought is that you have a version of Excel installed that QL is not compatible with. The current shipping version of QL is V65A, release date (000415). It is compatible with Windows V95, 98, 2000 & NT and with Excel V7 & 8. It is NOT compatible with Excel 5.

QL V62A (971103) was compatible with Excel V5 to V8 and Windows V3.11, 95, 98 & NT.

If none of this information results in resolution of your problem, I would suggest that there may be something wrong with the diskette, however, you indicated that it DID install fine on your Windows 95 system - does it still install on that system?

If not, the disk may indeed be damaged or unuseable now and you can contact Customer Service for a new replacement diskette and they can send you an order form.
