Hi Lisa,

Quik Check for Windows is designed to be a manual check writer similar to the same function in Accounts Payable or Adagio Payables. Though you could set up Quik Check for Windows with the proper GL distribution codes and format the check specification to have the check on top, I would bet that the client would not be able to have all the required Payroll functionality, such as reporting, etc. Quik Check for Windows was not designed with Payroll in mind; mostly just printing and/or maintaining manual checks and a check reconciliation.

If you wish to stay with the Plus database, rather than moving to Accpac for Windows, you may want to look at 3rdParty developers products for Payroll programs. Are you familiar with Distinctive Software's Payroll Companion (I'm afraid I'm not)? I believe they have a DOS-based and a Windows-based payroll package, though you'd have to check with them for compatibility with the different Accpac databases. There probably are other 3rdParty developers who have payroll programs - are there links from Accpac's website for this?

We're not really set up to provide Payroll setup type information, but if you're looking for other dealers thoughts on US Payroll programs, whether Accpac's Payroll for DOS or Windows, or 3rdParty products, perhaps you could post on www.PlusCommunity.com for some other feedback.
