Are sub-assemblies possible on Adagio IC? Everyday I have to manually assemble items on IC that were used as an item for a master item.
Is it not possible, like many other ERPs, that if an item needs to be assembled which, in turn, needed to assemble a Master Item to have it automatically assembled? AKA sub-assemblies?

Which modules do you have? Do you have inventory and Bill of Materials (BOM)?

The Bill of Materials add-on should do what you are looking for.

We have the BOM add on, is there some box I have to click somewhere to activate sub-assemblies?

If it is installed, you should see it under the edit menu. Create your Master items and your component items.

If you would like to build a finished product that is made up of other assemblies (ie sub-assemblies) in one shot, then the answer is no.

You have to first build the sub-assemblies, and then in a separate step build the finished product. Not even Adagio BOM can do this.

Thanks Steve, that is what I have experienced.Unfortunatly this is problematic. The master item assembly is triggered when the invoice is generated leaving the sub assembled components in a negative until they are manually handled.
In our business, the sub-assembled pieces are usually pretty simple with some raw material and labour allocated to them.
I have seen other ERPs auto build components of a Master Item that require assembly. Basically the ERP knows that if a component is not in stock and it is an item that requires assembly, then it will build it before satisfying the assembly of the Master item upon the the invoicing.

You have to compare features in a product with other products in the same price range.

But you are correct- automatic multi-level assemblies would be a welcome addition to Adagio.

I think the reason I thought the feature was there is because it was for ACCPAC Plus (either that or I'm thinking of some other product).
