Hello,

I'm currently working a project for a client that will allow them to track their company's investment holdings as inventory items.

The "Recent Cost" is the most recent stock value, and the "Qty on hand" is the amount of shares owned.

However, nothing appears in the "Total Cost" or "Ave unit cost" fields, and I'm wondering what my missing link is.

Thanks.

Daniel

You haven't received any goods. How did you get numbers into the qty on hand?

I entered them manually.

What do you mean "I entered them manually". As an adjustment, receipt, or some other way?

You should enter them as receipts.

I entered them as adjustments.

You should have entered the cost of the shares with the adjustment.

Andrew

Even if you do that, it doesn't update the most recent cost field. They need to be entered as receipts.

Yup. I agree. And in this application the cost would start at the adjusted cost base for the stock. Revaluations will likely have to be done by importing an adjustment batch I guess.
