I am trying to define an area in the system that would enable us to segrate materials that have come in damaged from our supplier. For example: If I receive 10 items for part number A and 2 items are damaged, where in the system can i receive these 2 pieces that would show up under QC yet not affect our current inventory. Our normal inventory should state 8 and 2 in QC hold. I need to ensure that inventories are correct and when auto generating PO's it does not base ordering on the quality hold parts.

You could create a "location" called QC-hold and transfer the damaged items there. If they were repaired to saleable condition you could transfer them back.
