I've just install my GL and AP on a new computer and I'm getting this error message "Home Currency [CDN] not found in currency files" when I try to go into GL and AP. My data is on a server which is P: drive and my programs are on the I: drive of my workstation. i don't know why this is happening. It's the same data should it not have the currency information?

Another workstation that just has AP on it hasn't got this problem.

Have I directed the program to look in the wrong spot for the currency information and if so how do I change it?

Any help would be appreicated.

Thanks
Candace

This error message means that Adagio is not finding the currency codes setup for your database. You need to find the correct mc*.ld4 files.

Edit P:\data\adsprod.dat with Notepad or Wordpad (it is a text file).

The first three lines should look something like;

[ADS]
Currency=p:\softrak\system
Task=p:\softrak\system

The currency path indicates where your currency codes should be stored.

Because you have the programs installed locally (on drive I but that's an unusual local drive letter) your might look something like this;

[ADS]
Currency=i:\softrak\system
Task=i:\softrak\system

As it is a new install you have likely left the correct currency tables on your old computer and Adagio is now looking at the default currency tables. CDN is not a standard currency code, CAD is.

Doug is a big guy with big fingers on a small keyboard!

He really meant the file named ADSPROF.DAT

Thank you. I figured it out. I had custom .LD4 files, so I had to copy them to the new system since they were with my program files. Would there be any problem moving all my .ld4 files to my data folder and redirecting the adsprof.dat to that location?

Thanks for your help.

No problem but not recommended. I suggest that you move them to x:\softrak\system were x = the drive your data is on. This is alos the same place your task files should be.
