Hi All,

I'm getting an error in POs while trying to post adjustments. It says "Error occured while attempting to prepare record' Please contact your software vendor if the error persists."

Any ideas on what this is?

Thanks,

Hi Acrylon

My idea is that the data is corrupted. Run Data Integrity Check (make a backup first), and if it asks, Rebuild the data, then run DIC again.

If this doesn't fix the problem, be prepared to restore from a backup disk, or to hire a data repair company. I am not one, but I can recommend several.

Hi Steve,

I know PO integrates with payables and inventory - what are the problems I will create when I rebuild the data?

Who are the canadian companies that support purple's POs?

Thanks,

Hi Again,

When I try to go in POs this morning I get a message that says, "Day end processing was not completed. Data may be damaged. Recover from backup." I press OK, then the program closes.

I'm guessing restoring the data is where I should be going now, but I'm concerned as to how this will effect other modules.

Thanks,

Hi Acrylon

First of all, the Canadian company that supports POA is The Stief Group - http://www.stiefgroup.com . They used to be the ones who provided sanctioned technical support for all of North America, but now they are just a very experienced consultant, like me only better.

If you are restoring the PO data, you really would want to restore the whole dataset. But if you can't, then you should at least restore Inventory (and thus OrderEntry too). If you want, ask me and I can explain why. The effect of not restoring GL and AP is:

Any invoices that have been sent to AP (via dayend processing) and any entries you have retrieved into GL since making the backup will be duplicated once you restore, so you will either have to delete the originals or the duplicates in those modules.

As Steve said, we provide support for Purchase Orders for Adagio.
