We found a bit of a glitch in IC 8.1A. If a user has posted their adjustments and not closed the window, and another user tries to post an adjustment, an error appears. After the error is closed & adjustment window is clear of adjustments, the adjustments have been posted - you close the adjustment window & re-open the window, the previous adjustments have re-appeared - thus allowing you to post again (therefore doing double-adjustments).
It would be better if a conflict window appeared & did not allow the second person to post the adjustments?
Thanks
Liz

Hi, Liz,

I'll need to know the exact error message received.

Are both users accessing the same dataset? Also, are they both logged in as the same user (eg. both logged in as SYS)?

Using the same dataset and two different users, I find that User2 is not even able to access the Adjustments window while User1 has it open. When User2 tries to access Adjustments, they receive an 'Unable to access Adjustments. In use by XXX account in window Adagio Inventory' message.

Hi, Liz,

If the EZSEMTAB file in the data directory is not cleaned up by the system, then this might make Adagio think a user is doing something when in fact they are not. Try getting all users out of Adagio and delete this file from the data directory.

As well, the 'critical error 1' message you reported is generic and tends to report that the program wanted to write/access/delete a data file and was prevented from doing so. Anti-virus software could potentially get in the way of this, but there could be other reasons as well.

Note that Softrak folder on workstation should be excluded as well as Softrak folder on server.

When someone closes a program via task manager, files can be left open on the server. Could it be that a network card is failing so a workstation intermitently loses connection to the server, leaving some files open? Rebooting the workstation will close those files.

Hopefully some of these suggestions will help you troubleshoot the problem on your system.
