Is there a way of saving Archived Batches so that the period preferences are sticky?
For example I have weekly and monthly use batches that I always want the Revise Date field checked, and the Revise period unchecked and the Recalculate period based on date checked... but I have to click on two of those selections every time I copy them to current. And for that matter if the Current radio button was sticky too that'd be preferred also. Is there a way to do this?

Hi Hugh,
I would say that function is currently not an option. We have never figured out a way to make settings stick. However, this is a very good suggestion and maybe that could be added to the feature set, now that more people are using archived batches to make recurring entries.

So if this is being considered, Softrak should make this "save settings" for that archived batch in all modules that have archived batches.

Best,
Brian

Brian:

I agree. We've run across Hugh's issue with our clients as well and even internally (as we use Adagio).

Thanks for chiming in everyone! At least I know I'm not missing a setting or something and maybe this'll get onto an upcoming release!

Hi Hugh (and Brian and Doug),

Thank you for the feature request to remember settings in the Copy GL batch screen. Indeed each option remembering would have to be coded by R&D.

Some of these settings are more interesting to remember than others - is it just the date and period options that are most interesting to you, or are there others?

I think that you would want to save the option settings in the Archive Batch Header.

Yes Andrew, I think that rather than contemplate which features should be sticky and which ones would not, just a tick box for 'remember settings' so if you're interested in something different than the defaults you can configure it yourself and it'll pop up that way whenever you use the 'copy' feature.
