WHat does it mean when it says I have an invalid retain earnings account? I have an account that will not let be create next year because of it.. Thank you.

What the 'type' of your retained earnings account in the setup? Is it Retained Earnings?

Yes we always use 350 as our number

Go Edit>Accounts> and click on your Retained Earnings account. On the top right of the 'General' tab are radio buttons for the 3 possible types of accounts... just select Retained Earnings

If you have departments, you may have a department with an incorrect retained earnings account. Go to Edit>Departments and check each one to make sure they are correct or go to Reports>General>Departments to view the retained earnings account assignments.

Thank you both it worked. I have one more issue on one client I must have done something when I went to the next year and I went 2020 and I cannot get it back to 2019. I have tries changing the fiscal year but it keeps going back to 2020. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I have a client that I closed and went to the nest year but I must have done it twice and it says 2020 I have tries everything is there anyway to correct this. Thanks

I would recommend talking with your Adagio consultant. This is not something that can be solved on the Forum. I remember that your dealer reached out to you in your earlier thread on the same topic.

It is very difficult to run two year ends in succession in Adagio. You are warned that you have already run a year end.

Perhaps something else is going on. I'd recommend talking to your Adagio Consultant just to make sure that you aren't digging a deeper hole.
