My client is asking:

Our current year end is November 30. We want to change it to December 31 (to line up YE with the YEs of sister companies).
According to CRA (income tax filing reason) we should have short “Year” for month of December and then set the new fiscal year dates to:
Start - January 1st , End - December 31st .
Please advice how it could be accomplished in Adagio GL.

The short description would be to create a Next Fiscal Year in Adagio Ledger, then edit the created fiscal year to what the new year will be (ie Jan 1 to Dec 31). Close all the periods in the short 'Next' year which overlap with the Current year.

There has been a number of threads in the Dealer forum about this topic, and strategies proposed by other Adagio consultants to do this. If you access this forum, one such thread is titled 'Fiscal Calendar Change', coincidentally for the exact change you are investigating, which started on Dec 7 2016. I can't provide a link from here since that is a private forum, but if you look for that, there is much more information there.
