I am looking to see if there is an easy way to adjust customer profiles for more than one customer at a time.

We have some customers in a control group set that are set to due on receipt and some that are net 30 days. This causes some issue on our overdue AR aging as some are showing January invoices and current and some show them as overdue even if the invoices have the same date as it is aging on our due date.

Is there a way to force all customers in a control set to update to the same terms? Or do I have to edit this on a customer by customer basis?

Hi Braedon,

It is possible to import customers to either create new customers, or update existing customers. In your case, all you would want to do is get a list of all the customers that belong to a particular control group, and import the single change for those customers to set them to the desired terms. That list of customers could be created from any of Export Customers, ExcelDirect from a filtered Customer list, or exporting from a SmartFinder search of customers.

Here is a link to a short video of about 4 minutes on how to configure importing to update existing records, such as customers. The video is for Payables vendors, but the idea is the same for Receivables customers.

Thanks,

That worked for us but now I have a new question related to the above.
We adjusted the customers so that all the customers in the account set have the same terms as I was looking to do above but now when we create new customers the terms default to net 30 but for some account sets we would like it to default to 1st of the month.
I want to try to have this default so that we don't have to go through 2 settings and potentially miss one and then have to update everything again later when it gets all mixed again.

Just trying to prevent data entry errors.

Look at Company Profile | Customer - there are a bunch Customer Defaults and one of them is "Terms code".

I would suggest filling this field in with the most commonly used terms code.
