I need to set up departments and was hoping I can some idea as to how to make using letters (BC, AB, MB etc) as the department codes and then have that reflected in the Financials when I am building statements. In the financials I get an error when trying to locate that department while using the letters.

Is there a trick or just not possible?

Alpha-numeric department codes may be used in Adagio Ledger and financial reporting. Using Adagio Ledger 9.2A, I can successfully use department codes that are strictly alpha-based (such as AB or BC) or a combination such as BC100.

When you mention that the error occurs when 'trying to locate that department', do you mean using the drop-down field on the toolbar that lists all of the department codes and ranges and masks? This part works for me as well.

What version of Adagio Ledger (or FX) are you using? And the version of the Financial Reporter - which can be found with the Financial Reporter open and from the Help menu and About Financial Reporter. The shipping release is 2.1.5.2195.

What is the error you are receiving?

There may be a problem with the file that stores the department list that is strictly used for the financial reporter (not used in Ledger), that has gotten damaged for some reason. If this is the case, you may want to get your Adagio consultant involved.
