I'm trying to post to the fiscal year just ended.
The year is closed.

I checked "allow posting to prior year".
I created the batch and dated it to March 31, 2015 (end of last fiscal year).

When I posted the batch I clicked "Post to Prior Year".

An error batch was created and the batch posted to the CURRENT (2015-2016) fiscal year.

What am I missing?

Looks like you have the steps correct.

Which version of Ledger are you using?
Do you have Next Year active?
Check your fiscal calendar. Have you flagged the 2015 fiscal calendar as closed?

If the posting process isn't happy about something I can understand it creating an error batch but I've never heard of it then posting the batch to the current fiscal year.

Hi Candace,

Are you posting to a particular period in the prior year, or the Y/E Adjustment period '14'? If a specific period (say 12), is that fiscal period closed?

I'm trying to post to Period 12 and it is open.

I'm using the newest and greatest version of the G/L (9.2A)

Looks like no one is aware of why this isn't working for you so it's looking like one of those problems that requires an Adagio Consultant to take a look. Your Adagio consultant should be able to help you out.

Hi Candace,

Is the period open in last year's fiscal calendar?

You should print a batch listing and see what the error is in the batch. It will be flagged in the listing.

If this wasn't working properly, we'd be deluged with posts on the forum. There's something in the settings or choices made in the process that is preventing this from working for you.

Sometimes the best way of uncovering the problem is to carefully explain to someone why the process cannot possibly be doing what it's doing. In my experience, it's helpful if the person you are explaining to has no clue about what you are talking about!

Running through the process with your Adagio consultant will probably uncover the problem pretty quickly too.
