After installing an upgrade I was told that my User Account Control setting was off. What is this, what does it do and how do I turn it on?

Hi, Joanne,

This is a Microsoft Vista and Windows 7 setting found in your Control Panel, under User Accounts. Microsoft recommends that it be enabled when running programs; although it may need to be disabled at times when doing installs, so that you can see mapped drives on the network.

If you do not have User Account Control on, then there is no need to turn it on after the install. The message is just there to remind you to turn it on if you had to turn it off to install your Upgrade.
