Hello,

Our purchase order number has auto numbering option for 6 digit. Our current purchase number only has 4 digit for now. However, when we print the purchase number, it shows two zeros in front (for example, showing 003093 instead of 3093). Is anyway we can set up for not showing those zeros?

Thanks,

Mavis

Hi, Mavis,

If the Auto-numbering mask had been set so that the segment that automatically increments was only 4 characters, then the document number would only print those 4 characters. The reason the leading 0's are printing is because the mask was set to 6.

Once the mask has been set in PO, it can't be changed. I don't believe there is a module in Dakota's Adagio Tookit for making such changes either, although your Adagio consultant might know for sure.

Hello Mavis:

Are you just interested in how it looks on the P/O when you print the form?

If so, the design of the printed form can be modified to show fewer digits. This is done under Maintain -> Specifications.

However you should know that the form designer tool is different from the other Adagio modules. It is more difficult to use. If you plan to make the change yourself, be certain to do a backup in advance.

Hi,
Part of the design of Purchase Orders for Adagio was maintaining backwards compatibility of DOS Inventory Receipts. In DOS IR, you had to have at least a 6 digit PO number.

You should be able to create a mask to report only a 4 digit code if that is what you are looking for on a report.

Unfortunately for now, you will still need to enter a 6 digit PO number to search or find a PO number, including leading zeros.

Regards,
Brian

Hello guys,

I have tried to change the display format in the specification. But it only shows the telephone, time and other format without the number format. So how should I create a mask to report only a 4 digit code?

Thanks for all your support,

Mavis

Hi Mavis,

You don't have to select one of the pre-defined masks but can instead type in one of your own. For example, if you type 9999 as the mask, that will print the first 4 characters of the field.

I believe the mask !9999 will print the last 4 characters of the field - it did for me.

Hi Mavis:

Try this:
-Right-justify the P/O number field
-Use the mouse to make the field narrower (by dragging the "handles")

It may take a couple of tris but you should be able to display only the number of digits that you want.

The mask is working perfect.

Thanks a lot,
