Hi All,

We have open orders in our system that have a certain salesperson assigned to them.

The salesperson for some of these orders has changed (the salesperson for the customer changed). It doesn't look like I can change the salesperson in an existing order though - is there anyway to do this?

Thanks!

Hi Cam,

You can always edit the salesperson code on orders (that have not been moved to history), whether they have been completed or not. Only if the salesperson code has been set as 'skipped' in the Order Entry Template will access to the salesperson field be denied.

You cannot edit the salesperson code on invoices or credit notes because this field is used for the Commission report, and auditable information would becoe out of synch.

What behaviour are you seeing that is preventing you from editing the salesperson code on orders and re-posting the change?

It is just 'blued' out, I cannot change it. The magnifine glass is also greyed out.

I'll check the template. Thanks for the speedy reply!

Indeed if the Salesperson field is 'skipped' on the entry template, this will disable the Salesperson field when re-editing an existing order. The solution in your situation is to remove the 'skipped' setting from the Order Entry Template.

If you want a different user than SYS to make the changes, remember to make the same change from the Security Group.
