Hi Elaine,

If you are using Adagio Ledger 90A, you can select the year you wish to print the report for.

If you perform a Year End with Ledger 90A, previous year transactions will be maintained.

If you are using a version of Adagio Ledger older than 90A, you cannot print a Detail Listing for any year other than the current year. In this case, you would have to refer to a data backup to see the details in an older year.

If you perform a Year End with an older version of Adagio Ledger, previous year details are deleted. So if you did year end with say version 81A and then upgraded to Ledger 9.0A afterwards, there will be no transactions to report on, even though the previous year is selectable. In this case, you would have to run the 'Retrieve Prior Year Data' function to get last year's transactions into your live data.

Thanks for your reply It was very helpful We are on 8.1A We do have the upgrade but they have not be installed. We will have to use our backup to restore. The backup is of all the Data.
How do we just pick out the GL to restore off the backup CD. Is there away to do this. Elaine

Hi, Elaine,

It's probably best if you begin by doing another backup of the GL data you currently have.

I don't know at this point exactly how your data originally backed up to the CD. For example, was the data folder from the server copied to the CD or was it zipped up using the Adagio backup and then copied to CD or was it backed up to CD using some other program?

I'm sorry but I'd need more information to be able to provide you more of an answer.

You might even want to engage your Adagio dealer to assist you with this process.

Hi Elaine:

You want to restore the files named GL*.ZZZ where ZZZ is your company data extension (i.e. DAT).

But I recommend asking your Adagio dealer (or IT department) to help you with the data restore.

The process varies depending on your backup mechanism (ie. tape) and on your filenames and folders. Done wrong, a restore can cause more problems than it solves.

We rely on Softrak Technical Support for answers to Adagio questions. Other than general advice, it's not their mandate to help us with things outside of Adagio such as backups and restores. They can't be aware of individual hardware and environment issues.

The good news is that, with the appropriate help, the process is painless and you will get the reports you want.
