We set up our inventory in Adagio to have 2 serial numbers per item, but when we do an order in Order Entry, it shows about 50 lines between items numbers to put serial numbers. How can we fix this to only show 2?

Hello premium,

In the serial number section of your specification, make sure that the suppress blank option is enabled.

Are you talking about the design specifications? It prints out perfectly on an invoice. It is when we are actually inputting the items in the template for the order tht this is happening.

Hi premium,

When you edit the item, how many serial numbers are defined? When adding an item using serial numbers to an order, this number multiplied by the quantity shipped determines the number of serial # detail lines (the above product divided by 5 is the number of lines), with a maximum of 50.

To fix this, you either have to decrease the serial numbers on the item or the qty shipped. And since decreasing the qty shipped is likely not an option, editing the item the better choice.

If you get 50 serial number lines on the order, this means you could be shipping at least 250 qty and have 1 serial number on the item. Of course you can't lower this on the item. Though you cannot have OE automatically insert a specific number of lines, you can set an option to prompt you about adding required serial numbers or none; do this in the OE company profile. If you are shipping hundreds of qty, you could choose to not insert serial numbers at all, then go back and insert the lines manually. Or you can choose to insert serial lines and delete the unnecessary ones.

I changed the serial number in company profile to prompt and that works! Thanks for your help.
