Message Prompt in Order Entry

Hi All, Everyone at our company is constantly getting the same message prompt in Order Entry. It is as follows: "The order statistics will now be updated, due to postings in ACCPAC Order Entry." It comes up when logging in and what seems at random when the program is open. Although this isn't causing any technical problems, it is becoming a real pain!
Is there anyway to stop this prompt? I'm am pretty sure no one is using ACCPAC anymore. If there is, is there a way to tell who is using it?
Thanks!
Cam

Hello Cam,
Someone's using ACCPAC (see Help | Active users) or your multi-user access to Adagio is not set up properly. The message occurs when OrderEntry detects that its internal count of orders, invoices and credit notes does not match the count in the file. The occurs if someone creates or invoices an order in ACCPAC Plus Order Entry. Remove the ACCPAC Plus icon from everyone's desktop.

Hi Andrew,
ACCPAC Plus has been removed from everyones' computer, yet the problem presists. Could it be possible that there are a few orders in the file that aren't in OE? I need some help diagnosing the source of the problem.
Thanks so much for your help so far!

Hi Cam,
If ACCPAC Plus has been removed from everyone's computers, then either the multi-user access to Adagio has not been set up correctly, or you have opportunistic locking turned on either on the server or one of the workstations. \softrak\system\chksys.exe will check your opportunistic locking settings when run at a workstation and on the server.

Hi Andrew,
It looks like opportunistic locking is turned on for some workstations.
Here is what chksys says:
======= Checking Special System Configurations ====== -- Checking the following Registry entries (Local_Machine): ... KEY: System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters VALUE: EnableOpLocks (=0) ... KEY: System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkStation\Parameters VALUE: UseOpportunisticLocking (=0) ... KEY: System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MRXSmb\Parameters VALUE: OplocksDisabled (=1)
What are the risks in turning off opportunistic locking at these locations?
Thanks again!

Hello Cam,
Risks in turning it off?!
It must be off for Adagio (and most other accounting software) to work properly. Current versions of Adagio display a warning as they start if this is not set correctly.
Turn it off and the other problem will disappear.

Thanks all,
Here's the million dollar question that is probably elementry to you guys: how do I turn it off?
I know I have to go into the registry some how and change some values, but does this have to be done on everyones computer who is using adagio, or is there a way to do everyone at once?
Thanks!

Tech Supoport:
I thought these values (from Cam's message above) were correct for OpLocks being OFF.
... KEY: System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters VALUE: EnableOpLocks (=0) ... KEY: System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkStation\Parameters VALUE: UseOpportunisticLocking (=0) ... KEY: System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MRXSmb\Parameters VALUE: OplocksDisabled (=1)
Nonetheless, of course, he needs to check all workstations and the server.

Thanks a bunch for your guys help so far!
It looks like opportunistic locking is turned off.
How do I tell if the mutli-user environment is not set up properly. I understand that this is a loaded question, but I was thinking maybe thereis a utility or something I can run to check if something is not the way it should be?
Thanks!

1. Current versions of Adagio modules will check the workstation setup when starting and will give you a message if Opportunistic Locking has been turned back on. (Some Windows updates in the past have reset it.)
2. You can run CHKSYS anytime.
3. On the server, you might want to run CHKSYS after any update. If automatic updates are turned on for the server, perhaps check after Micrsoft's "patch Tuesdays."
