Hello...

I need to change Category Codes in my data and i have more then 150000 data lines... the regular utilies do not help, as the category is linked to item number... so i would need to export my data, change it in excel and reimport it... Possible ? how? can you do that?

Thnaks

Andreas

Hi Andreas,

There is no function to export data from Adagio SalesAnalysis and make external changes, nor is there a function to import data.

You can use the Change Selected Sales Data utility to change a category code from one to another. There is no requirement to maintain a link to item number - otherwise it would be invalid to change the category code at all (even with Excel and importing). Use this function to make a change such as 'all category codes ABC will be changed to XYZ'.

Thank you for your reply... through your function we can't do it, as the former Categories were product families, to which items are assigned, now we have put all product families in one family and therefore can regroup in subgroups which are important for us to have and to measure... we can't do them by hand either, as we have 160000 lines to change... so it would be helpful, if there is a way, where we could produce you a file with the category assigned to each item number, (excel, CSV, etc file) and you could then have a copy of our data, export it, make the changes in excel, etc, and the reimport it... is that possible?

Thnak you

Hi Andreas

The DOS version of SalesAnalysis offers the ability to export to Lotus, make the changes there and import back. It's a little trickier than that, but not too complicated. The DOS version and Adagio SalesAnalysis share the same database structure, so doing it in DOS would show properly in Adagio. Of course, you need the DOS version Softrak Sales Analysis.

If you have it and want more info, please reply.

Note to Softrak: please add the import function that was in DOS to Adagio!
