Good Morning. I am creating an income statement and having no problems except for one function. I need to have the fiscal period as a numerical expression in specific cells. Eg, Nov shows as 8 or Feb shows as 11 in the cell etc. And, I need that numerical expression to update automatically every month. This cell is the launching point for calculations being made elsewhere in the statement so wondering if I can get it to do what I need. I'm sure this is a simple thing for someone but boy I sure can't figure it out.

Open up the statement called GL!SuperSpec90.SAM in the \Softrak\Ledger\Samdata folder and you will see examples of almost every formula.

The one you want is in cell T1 and says "=FPERIOD()" (without the quotes).

Quick follow up. The formula worked perfectly and I now have a nifty new income statement for people to review for possible use. We like to tailor statements to very specific situations and having this reporter has allowed us to do that for the first time ever. The more I learn, the more I can meet the wide needs of the statement readers and having the flexibility of this reporter allows me to think out of the box to produce less conventional but more user friendly versions. And, the challenge is kind of cool too. Thanks again for the help.
