Sorry if this has been covered... it's possible that I just suck at using the search feature...

In the GL is it possible to edit either of the description fields for a transaction after it has been posted?
Sometimes, particularly with capital items, there is useful data which arrives long after the invoice has been pushed through AP into the GL and it would be great if you could attach it to the transaction.

Thanks!

Hi Hugh

A half-decent way to edit the description fields is to unpost the batch, make the edits, and then re-post.

What you want to do can be done with the 3rd party product called Toolkit for Adagio, by Dakota Software.

thanks for the tips Steve!
That said, I'd be reluctant to do that considering that most of the entries I'd be adjusting would be from the AP module and that would just be begging for the GL to be out of step with the AP listing.
I'll check out the toolkit price but I'm guessing it would be too pricey if all I want is one utility out of it!
Mainly I wanted to make sure that there wasn't something built in that did this that I was somehow missing...

Hi Hugh

There is no risk that the GL will be out of step with the AP listing if all you do after unposting is to edit the description and then immediately re-post.

Toolkit for Adagio is available for sale by individual function. So although the retail price for the full module is $1,495, you can buy one function for $495 and each subsequent function for $195, until you accumulate enough functions to own the whole works. This does not include the annual Upgrade Plan, which is essentially mandatory if you want to use Toolkit in the future. Your Adagio consultant may have different figures; I am only detailing the retail price.
