We have no bank specifications in our accounts payable module and therefore cannot print any cheques. Data integrity check did not pick up any errors.

Please see attached file for error message.

The error message you've attached doesn't support what you wrote, it actually looks like a different problem based on that.

The "Bank specifications" are actually cheque specifications, so if you've printed cheques from AP before, they should not be missing. Your adagio consultant should be able to help you restore them from a back-up if they are gone now.

However, if you are trying to change bank details as suggested by the screenshot, then you'll have to follow the instructions and print and clear the posting journals and cheque register before you can proceed.

If there is no cheque specification in your active data directory then likely one was never created (possibly because one was not needed due to the fact that you were only writing manual cheques.

In AP open Maintain Specifications (under the Maintenance menu). Once open then under its File menu select Open Template. There are a number of templates to choose form. You may need to investigate a number of them until you find one close to what you want. From there is can be modified to fit your need.

Once you have the specification you will need to edit your Bank setup and assign the specification.

The error message is from attempting to edit the GL account number assigned to your bank. This is not necessary if all you are trying to do is add a specification.

If you are not familiar with this process you should contact your Adagio dealer for assistance.

Thanks very much for all your help - it would appear we had a computer hiccup and we lost all our spec files, but now have been retrieved.
