I have just tried downloading the latest Invoices upgrade, but got a notice saying that I need to upgrade Receivables 9.0A and BankRec 8.1B. I have not received an upgrade notice for BankRec, and I know I have already installed the upgrade for Receivables. When will I, or should I have received the upgrade notice for BankRec?

If you have the most current versions then I believe that the install is referring to service packs for AR and BR. You can obtain them from http://www.softrak.com/downloads/servicepacks/servicepacks.php

The upgrade notice you were emailed would have indicated that the IN9.0A compatibility service pack notices would go out in the next 4 to 5 days.

Yes, you will need to install these service packs for AR and BR before installing the IN9.0A upgrade.
