Hey all. Just wanted to ask what everyone thinks of the new theme for the support forum. If you prefer the old one, you can choose it (ubbthreads_copy) from the dropdown list at the bottom of the page. (currently set on 'coffee')

I like it. A change can be refreshing.

But if you are really going to make changes, I'd like to see:
-Email notification when someone responds to a post
-Spell-check to correct my terrible typing

There is an option in your profile to get e-mails for a response. I cut and paste long responses to Word to spell check them. Some browsers have a built in spelling checker too.

Looks great. I use ie-spell that can be downloaded from http://www.iespell.com/.

Yes, if you use Firefox it automatically gives you the squiggly red underlines for misspelled words as you type them. (I believe Google chrome also has this).

I learned something new today. There is a Preference screen in addition to the Profile screen.

I've just made this a "Watched Topic" so I should receive email notification of any posts.

There's always something new to learn, which is why attending training is so important!

It's because all we do is answer questions on the forum and have no other life!

It works! Emails received! They even come formatted in the new "coffee" style.

If Support has now been elevated to a god, does the avatar image represent the holy trinity?

This conversation is getting too technical for me. (Maybe it should be moved to the Tech section.) wink

I was initally wondering what happened to my view of the forum. At first blush, looks good. Is it just the display that has changed?

And Andrew, yes - training & learning new stuff & techniques is always good!

Yes, the forum is working the same way it used to - just the colors and custom titles have changed.

New titles based on post count:
0 - Stranger
25 - Rookie
50 - Journeyman
100 - Enthusiast
200 - Adagio Buff
300 - Adagio Pro
400 - Adagio Specialist
600 - Adagio Guru
900 - Adagio Wizard
2500 - Adagio God

Also, if you would like a custom title or to not have a title, just PM me and I can assist you with that.

Also...
Re: email notifications - At the bottom corner of any post there is a "Email Post" button. Click that then enter an email address and select wether you'd like to notified of:
= Just this post
= This post and all replies
or
= The entire thread

Hope this helps smile

Just an FYI that Email Post is used to email to another user one time.

I think "Watched Lists" are how to track activity on specific forums or topics or by specific users. Not certain yet if this bulletin board will email on a specific activity, but hope to find out soon.

Under My Stuff | Watched Lists, you can view items you have set up to watch: Forums; Topics; or Users.

To add an item to your Watch lists, click:
<> Forum Options at top left within a forum
<> Topic Options at top left within a topic
<> User name in a post.

I don’t think this bulletin has an option to email, but maybe the Adagio Guru, Bruce Gardner, can set me straight.

Here's what I learned today.
Under My Stuff | Edit Preferences, there is an option "By default should anything added to your Watch Lists be emailed to you?"

Once I've chosen "Yes" and then make a thread "Watched", any subsequent posting shows up as an email in my inbox.

I think it's been there all along but I never knew about it and just grumbled to myself. See? Another thing learned: Grumble out loud and maybe someone else knows the answer!
