The true power of Grid View as a deal maker is in the mining of data for many executives, this is what has been missing from many SME - ERP products.

Being proactive I see where the building of GViews for companies showing management real time 3D view of profitability, performance and productivity, will convince prospective s that the time to upgrade to Adagio is now.

What I am looking for which (may or may not already be present) is to automate (time trigger Gviews) with output to excel and PDF and have same email - published at a set times.

Owners-managers would have a (Birds Eye view of company position) with drill down ability and intimate details of transactions.

Accounting Data must now find its way to the "MOBILE CONTENT" data space. Put Adagio on the Blackberry.

Exciting possibilities.

The "/XD" command line parameter allows you to automatically send any View to Excel. By placing multiple GridView commands in a batch file, you can schedule the automatic creation of as many unique analytical spreadsheets as you desire.

Here are the steps:
  • Create the View or Workspace with the fields and calculations you want.
  • Push the ExcelDirect button on the toolbar to make sure that everthing ends up Excel the way you want.
  • Create a new shortcut to GridView using the "/XD" command line parmeters to launch GridView and place the data in Excel in a folder of your choice.
  • Once everything is working the way you want, place the command line in your batch file.
  • Repeat as necessary.

There is a complete description of all the GridView command line options in the module's documentation.
