Hi All,

I'm trying to post a PO and it is giving me the error "The DOS/USA exchange rate has not been set up or updated in the currency tables. Cancel this operation and update the currency data"

I know the DOS/USA exchange rate is set up. The only thing I can think of is that the default rate type was changed from DR to ME (Daily rate to month end). It still doesn't let me post though no matter what I put in the rate type box though.

It is only happenning for some POs - not all. It seems any PO that was created before Oct 5th (the day the default rate was changed) but we try to post after is causing problems.

Please help!

Hi,

I believe this error is caused by setting the new currency code up as "higher" instead of "lower". By changing your currency code from DE to ME, the attributes on the ME are probably set to Higher while DE was set to lower.

If there is no rate available on the date of the PO and obviously there is not a more recent rate, you will get this error. This is exactly how the Original DOS IR worked as well.

To confirm this rate issue, you should be able to post your PO with the DE exchange rate, and revise after you get the ME rate attributes corrected.

To correct this rate issue, if you want to use the ME rate, you will need to either post rates daily into your MC tables so there is always at least a most recent rate on file to pull the rate from, or rebuild the ME rate table to use the lower matching option. The problem is that you will have to delete all of your ME rates, change the rate matching attribute to be the same as the DE rate, and re-enter all of the ME rates. Given that the ME rates are just month end rates, I would suggest deleting and correcting the rate type.

Setting up the rate type matching attribute, was historically a Plus problem as well because in Plus, the help screen had the "higher" and "lower" documentation reversed (incorrect), although if you set up with reference to the Adagio MC help screen, you will find them to be correct. For use with Purchase Orders for Adagio, you need the MC rates to match as "Lower" which will match to that date's rate or an older rate on file.

Regards,
Brian
