How can I prevent entry level staff or sales clerk to change the price of an item.

Hi Wema,

Is this for Order Entry and creating a new order, and preventing the staff person from over-riding the unit price or extended price? Or is this for Inventory and preventing the staff person from editing items and the default unit price?

If this is for Order Entry, then the answer is you can disable the Price fields from the Detail entry template in the Group security settings - but only if you are using the most current 81B release. Any order version of Adagio OrderEntry (81A or earlier) does not have the feature of including the Detail screen within the entry template.

If this is for Inventory, you can remove the ability of Editing Items and Alternate Price Lists in the Group security settings. Do this for any other Adagio program that also allows editing Items and Price Lists and Special Prices, such as Order Entry.

All of this means that you have already created Group codes for security purposes and assigned your staff to the appropriate Group.
