In sales CQ is there a way to import a prospect list & compare it to the customer list for existing clients? If not would you recommend using import, merge, sort critera in XL?

You can certainly import a prospect list into SalesCQ. However, there's no direct way to check the prospect list against an existing customer list. Excel 2007 has some powerful tools for detecting duplicates. You might find it better to export your customer list to Excel, compare it to the list you are about to import, removing dups, and then importing the prospects.
