Most reports work well as CustomRP, but an 8.X feature will give problems. I had a couple reports not print this way due to an error in my report layout formatting an item number (report would print directly in Crystal). Your next best option is to do the workstation install of the Adagio Print Tool Utility mentioned above.

I just tried the Print Tool and I had no success with that one either. I am really curious to know why that is.

It was actually behaving the exact same way as it did when I was trying to print it or opn it in AR.

I'll have to try to create a new report from top to buttom and see if this is where the issue lies.

I am a report writer and I have been doing so for a few years so I really don't think it's because I have done something wrong in my report.

THe issue must have to do with Adagio.

Thanks again for the help.

The issue is the version with the print engine being used, not anything you are doing incorrectly. Both PrintTool and the CustomRP use the 7.0 version of the print engine, which is why I previously mentioned a 'Crystal 8.x' feature.

If you have a copy of the 8.5 version of the CRPE32.DLL file (you will if you have Adagio JobCost), copy it to a \softrak\system\crpe directory. If you do, this will force PrintTool to use this cpre32.dll and I'm guessing your report will work. This workaround has no effect on CustomRP reports.

I do have the CRPE32.dll file on my computer, I found it in the C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder (5,662KB). I also have it in the C:\program files\commen files\Crystal Decisions\2.5\bin (8,001KB). There is also another instance in the C:\program files\commen files\Business Objects\Common\3.5\bin folder (8,184KB).

At the moment I do have 3 Versions of Crystal Report install on my system, 8.5, 10 and 11.5.

The smallest of the crpe files the 5,662KB is the exact same size as the one found in the \SOFTRAK\system\WIN32 folder.

I do not have the CRPE directory on my system. And I don't think we have the JobCost module licenced either.

I'm not sure if there will be a work around for my issue but if you can give me more directions I will be happy to try anything out that can solve this issue.

Thanks one more time.

You are right that the CRPE folder does not exist, but you could create it. And you don't need JobCost to try this workaround - I just suggested it as a way to check if you had this file or not. As you do have an 8.5 version of crpe32.dll, it is perfectly OK to try this out by copying as from a previous posting.

Hi,

I have tried the last suggested option / workaround and again I did not succeed.

Any more suggestions?
Where should I take this from here?
I have just pruchased this Crystal for Adagio, will Adagio support me directly?

Hello Yann,

Have you asked the person from whom you purchased Crystal Reports for Adagio for any assistance?

In Crystal, use "Save as" and select Crystal 7.0 report.

Not yet.

But I really don't understand why I am running in this type of issue with the software. I am a Crystal Report Writer and I have been working wich Crystal Reports and MSSQL Database for years without any issues.

Can you please explain to me why I am having such troubles with the Crystal for Adagio?

Thanks
Yann

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately, it was not the solution.
