Hi All,

I've posted questions on this problem before, so excuse me if this is a little redundant, but I need some clarification.

Everytime anyone at our office opens up Order Entry, and what seems randomly while it is open, an information message pops up saying "The order statistics will now be updated, due to postings in Accpac Order Entry."

I've made sure no one is using accpac anymore, and I've also verified that opportunistic locking is turned off on all the workstations and on the server (by using the chksys.exe utility in \softrak\system\).

I know from previous posts that this message pops up whenever "Accpac detects that its internal count of orders, invoices, and credit notes does not match the count in the file." Someone who works here thinks that this problem may be able to be solved by some simple data repair, ie by just repairing the files so their counts match.

Is there a way I can tell if this would fix the problem, or does anyone have any ideas of anything else I can try?

Thanks, and have a great day!

If you are sure that no one is doing anything in ACCPAC Plus Order Entry, then run an Adagio Data Integrity check and make sure your data is clean.

Adagio needs to know the number of orders, invoices and credit notes on file and so keeps an internal count. Every so often it checks its internal count of the sum of the documents against he number of documents in the file. If the counts don't match, Adagio OrderEntry goes and counts the specific number of each document type (since that means that something external has added or deleted an order, invoice or credit note).

Finally, what version of OrderEntry are you running? (See Help | About).

Hi Andrew,

We are running 8.1A. We run an intergrity check once a month, but the message will still appear right after the check is done.

I hope this helps!

Thanks!

Hello Acrylon,

Can you tell us the date after the V8.1A?

Does the integrity check pass clean?

Hi Andrew,

the date after is 070826 (i think that is y/m/d, but you'll know better than me!).

I'm not sure about the integrity check -whether or not it passes clean all the time. The person who regularly does it is away until monday.

I do know however that it did not pass clear last time we ran it, which was last Friday the 25th.

Thanks!

Hello Acrylon,

Until the integrity check "file check" phase passes clean, OrderEntry will be unable to correctly determine the document count in the file.

Hi Andrew,

So how do I tell what the source of the problem is? Would the problems that were fixed during the integrity check be helpful information?

Thanks for your help!

Hello Acrylon,

If you are getting regular "file check" integrity errors in any Adagio application, then you almost certainly have a network hardware problem.

Check your data integrity every day and make sure the data is staying "clean".
