After talking with Mike earlier and testing tonight, the 2 items were locked because the "Ordered", "Shipped" and "Backorders" quantities were all zero. The Order was posted that way pending more information. When the Order was subsequently edited, the items were read-only and considered "invoiced". That seems like an unintended feature!
