Can someone please explain how Adagio IC calculates Average Days Between Shipments? I created a report for slow moving inventory using this info and then came to find out it the AVG DAYS BETWEEN SHIPMENTS is completely inaccurate. As it is, it is not reliable and cannot be used. Is this a know issue that it is calculated incorrectly?

It's a moving average between the transaction date and the last shipment date. That date difference is accumulated and divided by the number of shipments. Any date anomaly along the way would make this stat inaccurate.

Thanks for your response however I will give an example what is happening.
There is an item that is showing an avg days between shipment of over 365 days. However, this item ships routinely in approximately the same quantity every 2 - 3 months. I think there is an error on how it is actually being calculated. My Adagio rep could not explain it and said to wait for the service pack to be updated to see if it fixes the issue.

I believe the average days shipped is sum of days between each shipment divided by the number of shipments.

What I don't know but suspect is happening, are credit notes and adjustments included in this calculation or just invoices.

This number is dependent on Period end and Year end being run in IC on time every time.

If you have Toolkit for Adagio, on a copy of your data try running the "Recalculate Inventory Sales History". If that corrects the result then Period end and Year end have not been run on time every time.

Thanks for the suggestion, in Toolkit I tried to Recalculate Inventory Sales History but the option is not there.

If the option to retain historical data has been turned off in Inventory Control, you won’t be able to use this function.



Select IC Sales from the toolbar.

Or

Select Edit…Inventory...Recalculate Inventory Sales History from menu bar.



The form will present the current fiscal calendar as defined in Inventory Control. You can edit the current fiscal periods and prior year date range. The prior year will be applied to last year’s sales statistics.

Our year end/ Period end is up to date in IC.

You may not have the "Complete" Toolkit. Your Adagio dealer should be able to assist you with this.

Unfortunately, the Toolkit can't be used to recalculate the average days between shipments.

I feel an Upgrade coming on!

In this instance, the client would have to purchase that function. The current function will recalculate item stats, based upon the shipments in history. In particular, the units sold, amount, cost...for current year, prior year and each period. Perhaps I could calculate the average time between those shipments.

Like the AR Average Days to Pay, this stat gets messed up over time due to posting errors etc. I'd like to see some option that allows the user to pick a time frame over which to recalculate, say 2 years or 3 years (depending on what the user wants).
