Security Measures for Over Credit Limit Inactive - 11/26/14 03:22 AM

Good Day,

I was wondering if anyone has come across a situation whereby the security feature (alert) in place to have someone authorize a sale to a customer who is over their credit limit doesn't work.

The alert for if the customer is on hold comes up and allows the person responsible for authorizing such sales comes up but not the alert for a customer over the credit limit.

I have checked:

[*]Company Profile - to ensure the prompts are selected

[*]The security group feature to allow a particular group to allow credit limit override

Is there something I am missing. It seems to be happening only to a particular client.

Running OE 8.1F (140930)
AR 9.1A (140723)

Since it is specific to this one client I just want to know if you have any suggestions.

Thanks

Hi Ishana,

When you say the prompts in the Company profile do you mean AR or OE? When we were setting up something similar at one of our clients we figured out that you also need to enable "Prompt on hold?" and "Prompt if over credit limit?" in the AR Company Profile on the Batch tab if you want the alerts to pop up in OE.

We also found it useful to have the customer aging pop up each time someone logs into AR each day to update whether a customer was over their credit limit and should be placed on hold. This can be enabled under User Preferences.

Hi Lauren,

Yes the prompt in the company profile in AR. For now I had the client run an filter to verify those customers over their limit and they have placed them on hold.

Having that aging report pop us is helpful as well thanks.

The Payment Terms also control whether the condition is checked. You do not need the alert on a COD payment.
