Costing error on Day End

When processing day end today on the GL distribution summary- Costs, our freight cost does not show up in the totals. It does show on each entry with the correct GL for COGS but on the total page it shows a zero for that GL. That is my outage. Any ideas why this happened and how I can correct it?

Are you saying the GL transactions are out of balance? Is this just on the day end audit report (have to confirmed by printing the GL Transaction report)?

What is the status of your data integrity check?

Without seeing the data I don't think there is going to be any way to figure this out.

The GL balances however the costing does not match the input. I think it may be a problem with the Control Account Sets. It appears that both sides of the entry use the same GL number, which is why the total is zero. I just don't know why it has not shown up before. Although it is a small account/catergory, it still is used fairly often and we have not had trouble balacing the COGS before.

I have read the manuals, watched the webinars, and read other documents but I can't find the explanation of what the GL entered in the control accounts affect and what the GL in the Catergories affect. Can anyone explain this to me?

Anything anyone would write here would be mostly a rehash of the manual or other documents. Have you considered a phone conversation with your consultant. If one of my clients asked me that question I would find it much easier to explain it verbally than in writing.
