Assemblies - Inventory 8.1D (120126)

Assemblies - Inventory 8.1D (120126) - 12/05/12 10:49 AM

I have a BOM item that had a quantity sold of 5.5 units. When I went to do an assembly, it does not allow fractional builds (makes sense). But why does it allow you to sell fractional quantities?

Thanks

So you can sell 2.5 lbs of cookies.

Fractional quantities is an option that is enabled in the company profile. It cannot be disabled once it is enabled.

Andrew:

If I can sell 2.5 pounds of cookies, then why can't I build 2.5 pounds of cookies? With fractional quantities turned on, one would think this should be possible.

Oh, I missed that. Sorry.

Seems like an oversight to me.

Andrew:

I trust that means a solution will be forth coming in a future release of IC?

No one's complained, not even Mike who started the post. Perhaps if someone makes it a Wish. QA'ing rounding would be a major job.

This is the first time all year that I had someone invoice a fractional quantity for a BOM. I didn't even know it was possible. I have fractional quantities turned on because we sell items by the half foot and all our steel is entered as hundred weight (20.25 = 2025 lbs). Now that I know I'll let everyone else know to be more careful but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like it fixed.

Thanks

Oh - I see the problem! You can't get the quantity on hand back to an integral number. My brain doesn't seem to be working as clearly at the moment.

Yes, that should be fixed.
