OE 8.1D (2011.03.16) Credit notes issue

We upgraded to OE 8.1D(2011.03.16) over the weekend. Now our cost has the mentioned problem below. This has not been fixed for credit notes going forward either.


• When issuing a credit note against a previous invoice and returning a different quantity of items to inventory than were on the original invoice, an incorrect extended cost for the items was calculated. This has been fixed for credit notes going forward. Items returned on Credit Notes created in OrderEntry 8.1D (2010.11.05) or the 8.1D (2010.12.22) Hot Fix should be inspected and necessary adjustments made in Adagio Inventory.

Perhaps you would provide more detail as to exactly how the credit note is being created. Was it applied directly to a particular invoice or not? Was the quantity being credited the same as what was shipped? Does this item use Alternate units?

We are using 8.1D (11.03.16) and I looked up a Credit Note that we issued yesterday. The credit note was for 1 item from a previous Invoice where 6 of the item was purchased. The Credit calculated the cost correctly, for 1 item. I checked our Inventory account in Ledger as well and it is also correct. I tried a new credit and when I changed the quantity, the extended cost also changed to the new correct amount for that quantity.

If the item uses alternate units, and the units returned differ from the units sold, then the extended cost has to be adjusted. This is a different (and known) problem than the one corrected in this Service Pack. It has been discussed elsewhere on the forum.

Thank you all for replying. This problem happened before(in 2010) and it was fixed. I am sure it will be fixed again.

Will we have a hot fix soon?
