Multiple zero changes on Inventory Worksheet - 09/12/09 07:12 AM
Hello there,
We have come across something in Inventory Version: 8.1B (090714)when editing the Physical Inventory worksheet file. If we have several items that show quantities but have zero physical count and we adjust these items, once posted, only the first of those adjustments to zero is posted. We have run the DIC on the inventory data which did correct nine errors (unrelated to these items) but the behavior persists.
Any thoughts?

Please keep a copy of the data so that we can take a look.
If you change the order of the rows with the zero quantities, does that make a difference to the behaviour? (In other words, don't have consecutive rows containing zeros for the quantity.)

Andrew - I have some more information on this.
If you edit a row on the inventory worksheet to change the quantity to zero and make a change it takes. If you go to a second item to edit and make it zero, when you exit the editing screen the row shows as not changed. If you exit the Inventory Worksheet entirely and go back to that row the change to zero seems to work.
Do you have an FTP where I can put the data?

Hi Mike,
When you are editing the Physical Inventory, do you have the option to 'auto-edit physical inventory' set in the company profile? After saving changes to an item quantity, this pops the next item on the list.
How do you locate the items? Using the Find button, scrolling through the list, cycling through all items as above, or another way? Perhaps this is relevant.
Are there multiple people editing the physical inventory at the same time, or just one person?
How is the grid sorted, by item or pick sequence?
Do non-zero quantities get saved correctly, or does any changes made to multiple items not save any changes but the first?
Could you give this a try with sample IC data? Perhaps there is something different about your data or the network environment that is causing this problem.
When I use this function and set a number of consecutive items to 0 qty on hand, with 'auto edit physical inventory' enabled, each edit immediately sets the 'Quantities Entered' column to Yes, which indicates that Adagio Inventory recognizes that a change was made, and posting will make the qty and cost adjustment to the item. The screen always refreshed as soon as I madea change. I wasn't able to duplicate the problem on sample data as you reported.
Posting will ignore all items where the 'Quantities Entered' has a value of No. I presume that when you wrote that the row shows as not changed, this 'Quantities entered' column has 'No' for the value, even after saving a change. If so, then the problem is when editing, not when posting.
