Hello Victor,

It doesn't sound like the OE 8.1B upgrade has installed properly. A 1013 error is usually the sign of an incorrect dictionary.

First, run \SOFTRAK\SYSTEM\CHKSYS.EXE and see if it identifies any inconsistencies in the install.

Something is seriously wrong if the OE detail file cannot be opened.

Do you have a backup from before the dayend process started?

Hi Andrew,

Thank you.

CHKSYS.EXE shows one worning (eztasks in ASP and Softrak\System)
I think this error related to one particular dataset. I have two more datasets located on the same network drive and they have no problems with DayEnd. I reseived report about DayEnd errors to late and latest backup (which I could not trust eather)
is 2 days old.
I had DayEnd errors in this dataset before in ACCPAC which I used to fix by restoring from backup.

I would definately need help of some of your experts.

Thank you
Victor

Hi, Victor,

An error 1013 is usually related to ‘Permission denied in a network environment’. It means that a function was trying to be performed and required a file(s) to complete successfully; however, for some reason, one or more of those files were locked and unshareable so the function couldn’t complete as expected.

If the problem isn’t due to a multi-user condition (eg. someone else has a file open that was needed by the function, which is unlikely as this is Day End), then you should try rebooting the workstation where the error occurred and, quite possibly, the server as well to try to clear the file open condition. It could be that another program was holding these files open for some reason.

Are you using Plus also? If so, then your ADSPROF.xxx (where 'xxx' should be replaced by your 3-character data extension) file in that dataset should probably be pointing to the \ASP folder. The ADSPROF file may be edited using Notepad when no one else is using this data.

Re: OE 8.1B DayEnd errors - 06/03/08 12:42 PM

Hi All,

Thank you.
I restarted both server and w/s. I have admin rights to all files and directories. My data ADSPROF is:
[ADS]
Currency=\\benaccsrv\Accpacprograms\SOFTRAK\system
Task=\\benaccsrv\Accpacprograms\SOFTRAK\system

I copied data to local w/s, check atributes, tried to run D/Y and received the same errors. Need someones help ASAP.

I have two more datasets working properly.

Victor,

I think you are correct that you need someone to see what is wrong. (For example, the paths in the ADSPROF file are usually not UNC but refer to a mapped drive letter.)

You can find a consultant near you here.

Hi Victor:
I have a large transaction volume Adagio site getting the exact same error messages during Order Entry Day End processing.
Did you resolve the problem?
If so, would you mind telling me how?
Thanks..
