Three Gridview Detailed Questions - 08/20/07 04:52 PM

1. Can we conditionally set a colour on a field? Example, for a numeric field, if the number is >0, display Red, else White (e.g. display Balance Outstanding in Red only if positive)

2. We have a Workspace with 3 Views. When we double-click on the Link Field in the 1st View, can that specific Row either be highlighted or displayed on its own (e.g. in its own View)?

3. In A/R Customers, is there a way to display Overdue Amounts?

Hi Samuel,

1) No, only rows can be formatted conditionally, not columns. You can format columns with colours, but it's all or none.

2) No to part 1, but yes to part 2. When you link from a View by double-clicking on a cell, that view will not shrink down to only those selected rows. But you can create a second 'identical' view that you link to, in addition to all the other required links. Then when you perform your link, only those select rows appear in the other View.

3) In Receivables 80B or later, there is a function called 'Calculate Customer Aging', which ages all transactions either by Due Date or Document Date, into whichever categories (30/60/90 or other) that you want. These amounts are accessible either from GridView (Cusotomer Master table) or the Edit/View Customer column editor - the fields are called Aging Bucket (1 to 4) for the amounts, and the days are Aging Days.
