Try to add a new Time & Disbursement batch and get - 12/02/22 09:00 AM

When any of our timekeepers try to add a new batch in Time & Disburment Batches we get the following error:

Error adding record to batch control file, record already exists.

We hit ok and get the warning:

Error writing to batch file _____ (and the number here keeps increasing by one every time someone tries to add a batch).

Because of this, no one can add their time in in a new batch - please help.

Hi Marshal:

Did you run a Data Integrity Check? Do a full backup and Run Data integrity. If no errors, it is not the cause.

Batch numbers are only up to 9999, if you haven't done a year end which includes purging the batch status, more likely the numbers are being reused.
Be sure you properly complete the Year End steps.

We do a year end every yea. The number that it says it cannot make is 716, then 717 then 718 ...

Also I have done a data integrity check and there are errors but they are because of something to do with a person that does not exist being the primary on a client - this has been this way for a while (over a year).

What else can we try or what additional information can I give you.

Check the batch status Report. The Batch number may have not been saved properly and the batches actually exists.
Try printing and purging the Batch Status report.

I do see the batches that it says already exist - Do I choose all 4 types and all 4 statuses when I print the report and then say yes to purge/clear the report?

I am sorry, I don't see the same options. You might have an older version. You need to contact your Adagio dealer.

Hi Marshal

Fix the errors! Then repeat. It may take a few times to repair all of the errors, and you may not see the ones that matter on the first try.

It's definitely data corruption.
