Excel Direct Button export file not working right

Excel Direct Button export file not working right - 05/26/21 04:00 PM

We recently updated our Adagio Payable and also updated excel 2010 to 2019.

With my Adagio Ledger 9.3A (190720)

When go to "report" --- "Detailed" Listing" --- Using "Excel Direct button"

The export to excel file is wrong because the "selection criteria" tab is now on the same tab as the "data" tab so a chunk of data is wiped out by the "selection criteria"

Also I can not find the option to make my excel export default to "excel table view" again.

I have posted some examples below. If you have any suggestion on how I can fix this, it is much appreciated.

Incorrect excel direct export format - The "selection criteria" is wiping out the "data" on the same excel tab. Correct export should have one "data" tab and one "selection criteria" tab

Hi tojayc,

I believe your Adagio consultant contacted us earlier today regarding this situation. They indicated to us that this issue is happening with only one workstation at your site and not others. And that the support person who answered that question is also using Excel 2019 and does not have this problem. It may be that the problem is related to the Excel upgrade.

When working correctly, the report criteria should be on a second tab of the Excel spreadsheet.

The Trial Balance report also supports Excel Direct. Do you see the same situation for this report?

Your consultant is still on top of helping you out with this.

I can't replicate the problem so this issue is local to your install.

My guess is that you have your workstation or RDS session set to use Large fonts. Try changing the setup to use the Normal font size.

Thank you very much. Our consultant is also contacting us directly to resolve the issue as well. After further investigation, we noticed that my excel direct is exporting to "CSV" file instead of "xlsx" and that's probably what causes the export to go wrong.

It also only happens to my particular work station. I logged into another PC with my remote access and can excel direct to "xlsx" just fine.

Our consultant probably has a solution for this seemingly very simple problem. Just want to update in case someone else has the same problem. Thanks again for all your help.

At the end, the solution is to update the excel 2019 to the latest version and that solved the problem. Excel Direct is exporting to "xlsx" format once again.

The solution may not be that easy to find as it may be an issue that Adagio doesn't see Excel installed for you resulting in a CSV output rather than a XLSX output.

What O/S is on your workstations and server?

Are you using a Terminal server (RDS connection)?

How did you update office? New computer with new version, or updated the old version in place, or ...?

What flavor of Office? There are 4 or 5 different versions of Office 365 or I’m sure there are other flavors that are not even coming to mind.
