manipulating data and re-uploading

manipulating data and re-uploading - 01/15/16 12:03 PM

I have two questions: if you backup the data to a local drive, run toolkit on the data and then upload the data back to Adagio Cloud (understanding that you have to delete the data and then upload it again); what happens the the user/group links, are these kept alive?

Secondly, with Adagio Cloud looking for a specific PayDirt transaction file identified by dataset number, how do you ensure that Adagio Cloud keeps the same company number for the company that you just deleted and re-uploaded? In my sandbox, Adagio Cloud does not let me assign a company number.

Hi Lyndon,

Question 1: What happens to the user/group links, when the dataset is re-uploaded ? Are these kept alive?
The passwords/groups settings are not affected by re-uploading of dataset, as this information is NOT kept with the dataset.

Question 2: How do you ensure that Adagio Cloud keeps the same company number for the company that you just deleted and re-uploaded?
### ID is Assigned when you create a company for the first time in Adagio Manager. Re/Uploading does not change this ### ID.
PayDirt application needs to know this unique ID so it can create a unique Ledger Import file matching your Adagio Cloud Company ### ID.

Each Adagio Cloud Ledger has a PD-Import resource file with a matching ### ID and location of this batch file on your drive M: ( Local C: ).

To find out what each Adagio Cloud Companies ### ID is:
Open up Adagio Manager: Click on the "Manage" tab, Click on the "Companies" menu.
A list of existing Live Company Name(s) is displayed with their ### ID's.

When you re-upload your data, as long as the PD Resource file is there, your ### ID will be the same and all should work as expected.

Thanks Harj! You have eased my apprehensions about breaking things with downloads and uploads!
