it usually takes me quite a while to prepare my Gridviews. I have discovered a neat trick for backing up my Gridviews when I do my daily accounting data backup.
I save the Gridview file as FileName.gv.bio to the accounting data folder.
Then when I "Backup-Complete Dataset" in my GL the gridviews are included in the backups.
If you want to open the files from the File-Open, you must remember to look at "all files". (The default is .gv)

That is not a recommended approach, in my opinion (although quite creative). The downside is that you can only include in Workspaces views that have an extension of .gv.
Why not just write a batch file that backs up your .gv* files and create a shortcut on your desktop that launches the batch file?
If you backup the module you are working in (or related modules), then the first letter wildcard is used (GL*.dat). If you back up all modules, then all files matching the extension are chosen (*.dat).
