If there are being changes proposed for Inventory 9.3A, we would request that the inventory locations could define what quantities on hand would roll up into (summary) inventory Quantity on Hand for viewing on the screen. You know, where you see the total Qty on hand, on Sales Order, and on PO.

This could be set by user location default profile.

We have client situations where there is a location set up for damaged stock or possibly offsite or any non-saleable item locations that we would like the option to define and exclude those locations for the onscreen view summary of items on hand. This would mean that selective inventory locations could be excluded from the onscreen summary view of the quantity on hand.

You could further define whether the quantity would show in the location drill down. I'm OK with the current scenario and for now would take all locations in the drill down, unless you could define with a filter and exclude selective locations from the normal order entry drill down view.

In my scenario, there is a location WHS (warehouse) with 200 items and location QUA for quarantined or damaged items of 30 items. The current reporting only allows for the summary to be reported as 230 items on hand. We are requesting the ability to exclude location QUA, then the summary quantity on hand would show only show 200 instead of the 230 as the current inventory module.

We can see this in use for items being transferred between warehouse location using the temporary transfer XFR (in transit location), and Consignment Inventory situations for external consignment inventory locations.

There are lots of Order Entry sites where this practical configuration could be used if it was available.

Thank you for your feature request for Inventory. I will write it up for R&D for future consideration.

We are just about at the end of R&D for IC 9.3A and our feature set is now frozen for this upgrade.

You might already have seen the post on the private Developer forum, but there is an Alpha version of IC 9.3A available for download that you can investigate what features we have included.

I imagine the type of quantity on hand display could be created with a GridView workspace, in combination with the Filter toolbar to easily include or exclude specific locations.
