A client is looking at upgrading their phone system and they asked me if I know of a system that can connect to Adagio Receivables to read the phone number (I guess a form of Caller ID).

A second question which they didn't ask, but which I will. Is there an integration with Adagio such that you can click on a customer's phone number in Adagio and it will place the call?

Hi Steve, I think you might need to request a modification to AR/OE/IN/AP/PO/JC/SQ to get them to present the phone numbers as telephone urls for this to take off. That way you could set another application to handle the link through windows. Maybe you could format the links properly in a gridview with the current versions?

So you think the answer is, at present, "no". I assume to both questions.

Has anyone tried to integrate the phone number in Adagio with a phone system?

I would like to know what Softrak thinks too.

It would totally depend on the phone system or if the phone system has a compatible Call Manager or Call Assist program. For example, Panasonic Business Phone systems have a Call Manager add-on by Poltys - Poltys Assistant, according to their site, it integrates with Windows-based CRM programs.

As a Panasonic Dealer, I can tell you I have not yet tried this software out, so i cannot tell you if it will integrate with Adagio, but you could contact them & see?

There is no current way to launch Receivables (or Payables), or switch the screen context from another application, and instantly display a specific customer. The only tool that might be able to provide something along those line would be GridView acting as an automation server.

Adagio SQL-Synch might be used to mirror the customer database if the telephone software can connect to an arbitrary SQL dataset for it's customer display.

Adagio is not designed to be used in a call center.

Hi,

We have looked at this several years ago because one of our large clients wanted to be able to have the order with the customer details, come up when the call was directed to the order desk staff. They have some 20 to 40 staff taking orders in Order Entry so there are definite time savings with improved efficiency if available.

We are looking at some other options.
